Any.do Review

Any.do is a cross-platform to-do list, calendar, and project management app used by over 40 million people worldwide. Built around a clean daily planner interface, Any.do combines personal tasks, team project boards, reminders, and calendar events into one unified workspace. This Any.do review covers pricing, the new AI planner, team collaboration features, and how it compares to Todoist and TickTick.

Daily Planner

The Daily Planner view surfaces only the tasks and events due today, combining your to-dos and calendar into a single focused list you check off one by one.

Natural Language Input

Type or dictate tasks like “call mom tomorrow at 5pm” and Any.do parses the date, time and reminder automatically — no tapping through date pickers.

Shared Lists

Shared grocery, household and project lists update instantly for everyone invited — great for couples and roommates and eliminates duplicate-purchase arguments.

Integrated Calendar

The built-in calendar pulls Google, iCloud and Outlook events next to your tasks so you can see meetings and deadlines side-by-side in one screen.

Smart Reminders

Location- and time-based reminders, WhatsApp nudges and recurring daily/weekly/monthly schedules make sure important tasks never get buried and forgotten.

Cross-Platform Apps

Native apps for iPhone, Android, Apple Watch, Wear OS, Mac, Windows, web and Chrome/Safari/Firefox extensions — everything syncs in real time across all of them.

Workspaces for Teams

Teams plan workloads in shared boards with Kanban and calendar views, assignees, comments, attachments and mentions — a lighter alternative to Asana or Monday.

WhatsApp Reminders

Any.do integrates with WhatsApp so you can add tasks, get daily summaries and receive reminders directly in the chat app you already have open all day.

Pros

  • Beautiful, minimalist interface praised as the best-looking task app on mobile
  • Excellent cross-platform consistency across 10+ device types
  • Solid free tier for individuals
  • Strong natural language and voice input

Cons

  • Many power features (recurring tasks, color tags, themes) are locked behind Premium
  • Team workspace features are less mature than Asana or ClickUp
  • Sync can occasionally lag between devices
  • Premium pricing has crept up over the past 2 years
✔ Beautiful, intuitive cross-platform interface ✔ Smart daily planner with "Plan My Day" AI ✔ Natural-language task entry ✔ Shared lists and real-time team collaboration ✔ Built-in calendar and reminders ✔ Voice input and location-based reminders ✔ Templates for projects, grocery, travel ✔ Apple Watch, widgets, and Siri integration ✘ Some advanced features gated behind Premium ✘ Gantt/advanced PM views limited in Teams plan ✘ Integrations library smaller than ClickUp or Asana

I tried Todoist, TickTick, and Notion, but Any.do is the only planner I actually stuck with for over a year. The Daily Planner view forces me to triage every morning, and the Google Calendar two-way sync means my meetings and tasks live in one place. The AI assistant is a nice bonus for breaking down big projects.

Any.do Alternatives

If Any.do does not fit your workflow, strong alternatives include Todoist (best-in-class natural language and integrations), TickTick (richer free tier with built-in Pomodoro and habits), Microsoft To Do (free and deep Microsoft 365 integration), Things 3 (premium Mac/iOS-only with beautiful design), and ClickUp (for teams needing full project management).
