Rated 4.6/5 on Trustpilot — Backup, partition manager & data recovery suite for Windows, free and pro tiers

AOMEI Overview

AOMEI Tech is a Chinese software company founded in 2009 that has built one of the most respected suites of Windows utilities for backup, disk imaging, partition management, file sync, data recovery, and PC cloning. Its flagship products are AOMEI Backupper (system, disk, file, and cloud backup), AOMEI Partition Assistant (resize, merge, clone, convert MBR/GPT, migrate OS to SSD), AOMEI MyRecover (file and partition recovery), and AOMEI Cyber Backup (centralized backup for businesses, VMs, and servers). Across these products AOMEI serves over 50 million users in 180+ countries.

The platform is well-known for offering full-featured free editions plus paid Professional and Workstation tiers with lifetime upgrades. Independent reviewers consistently rank AOMEI Backupper and Partition Assistant in the top tier of Windows backup and disk software for 2026, with strong UI, fast performance, and a 90-day money-back guarantee on all paid editions.

Full System & Disk Backup

AOMEI Backupper supports full, incremental, and differential backups of your system, disks, partitions, and individual files — with scheduling, encryption, and compression.

Disk & Partition Cloning

Clone a hard drive or SSD with one click, including system drives. Migrate Windows from HDD to a smaller SSD without reinstalling.

Partition Manager

AOMEI Partition Assistant resizes, merges, splits, moves, copies, and formats partitions without losing data — plus MBR/GPT conversion and dynamic disk management.

Migrate OS to SSD

Move your entire Windows installation, programs, and user data from an old HDD to a new SSD — typically in under an hour and without reactivating Windows.

File & Folder Sync

Real-time, scheduled, and bidirectional file sync between local folders, network shares, and supported cloud drives.

Data Recovery (AOMEI MyRecover)

Recover deleted, formatted, or lost files and partitions from internal drives, external HDDs, USB sticks, and SD cards on Windows.

Centralized Business Backup

AOMEI Cyber Backup provides centralized image backup for Windows PCs, servers, and VMware/Hyper-V virtual machines from a single console.

I have used AOMEI Backupper Professional on three different family PCs across five years and it has saved me countless times when a drive failed or I needed to migrate to a new SSD. The interface is straightforward, scheduled image backups run silently in the background, and recovery from a bootable USB has worked first-time every time I have needed it. The lifetime upgrade policy is the cherry on top.

AOMEI Partition Assistant Professional is what I reach for whenever I need to migrate Windows to a new SSD or resize a system partition without doing a clean install. It is genuinely easier than the equivalent built-in tools, and the OS migration wizard has worked flawlessly on every laptop I have used it on. Wish there were native macOS support but on Windows it is excellent.

For my IT consulting work I rely on AOMEI Backupper for client image backups and AOMEI Cyber Backup for one of my small business clients with five workstations and a Hyper-V host. The centralized console is much easier to manage than juggling per-machine licenses. Pricing is fair, support is responsive, and the 90-day money-back guarantee gave me confidence to try the Workstation tier.
