I completed the MITx Computer Science MicroMasters on edX and it directly contributed to a promotion at my current job. The course quality from MIT was exceptional — rigorous problem sets, recorded lectures from the actual on-campus courses, and active discussion forums. At under $1,500 total, it was a fraction of what a traditional graduate program would cost. Highly recommend for self-motivated learners.

edX has a huge catalog and I’ve enjoyed taking individual courses from Harvard and Columbia. The free audit option is great for previewing courses before deciding to pay for a certificate. My only gripes are that the mobile app feels dated and some courses have weak support — instructor response time varies a lot. Verified certificate prices can also be steep for premium courses.

I used edX’s IBM Data Science Professional Certificate to transition from accounting into a data analytics role. The certificate carries real weight on a resume — multiple hiring managers asked about it during interviews. The pace was challenging while working full-time, but the self-paced format gave me flexibility. Overall a great value compared to a bootcamp.
