Planet VPN Review

Rated 4.4/5 on Trustpilot — Free & premium VPN with no-logs policy, fast servers and unlimited bandwidth

Planet VPN Overview

Planet VPN (formerly RusVPN) is a freemium VPN service registered in Romania, best known for offering a genuinely usable free plan with no registration, no email, and no data caps. Its free tier gives users access to 5 unlimited server locations across popular regions, while the Premium subscription unlocks 1,200+ servers across 60+ countries, faster speeds, dedicated streaming locations, and priority support. Planet VPN offers apps for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux, routers, and browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.

Security includes 256-bit AES encryption, a kill switch, DNS / IPv6 / WebRTC leak protection, and the proprietary PlanetX protocol alongside IKEv2 and L2TP. The service operates a strict no-logs policy and allows up to 10 simultaneous device connections, well above the typical 5–7 limit on most VPNs. Independent reviewers note the free plan is unusually generous and well-suited for casual privacy and access needs, while the Premium plan is competitively priced — although streaming on platforms beyond Netflix and YouTube can be hit-or-miss.

Genuinely Free Plan With No Sign-Up

Use Planet VPN Free with no email, no payment, and no time limit. The free tier includes 5 server locations and unlimited bandwidth — extremely rare in the VPN market.

1,200+ Premium Servers in 60+ Countries

Premium subscribers get access to a global network optimized for speed, streaming, gaming, and torrenting, with dedicated streaming locations.

Strong Encryption (AES-256 + PlanetX)

Kill Switch & Leak Protection

Automatic kill switch shuts down internet traffic if the VPN connection drops, plus DNS, IPv6, and WebRTC leak protection to keep your real IP hidden.

10 Simultaneous Device Connections

Connect 10 devices at once on a single account — well above the industry-standard 5–7 device limit on most paid VPNs.

Apps for Every Platform

Native apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, plus browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, plus routers via OpenVPN configs.

Strict No-Logs Policy

Planet VPN does not track, store, or sell your browsing data. You can use the free version anonymously without ever providing personal information.

Affordable Premium Pricing

Premium plans start as low as $1.99/month on the 3-year plan, making Planet VPN one of the cheapest premium VPN options available with a money-back guarantee.

Honestly the best free VPN I have used. No registration, no annoying time limits, and unlimited data — perfect for casual browsing privacy and basic geo-unblocking. Connection is stable on Windows and the iOS app, and the kill switch genuinely works. I upgraded to Premium for $1.99 a month on the 3 year plan and have not regretted it for a moment.

Solid VPN especially for the price. I use it on my phone and laptop while travelling for work — connecting to a US server gives me access to the content I miss from home. The free version is great as a backup. Streaming on Disney+ has been hit or miss, but for general browsing privacy and Netflix US it is excellent value.

I have used Planet VPN Premium for almost two years on Windows and Android. The price is unbeatable on the 3 year plan and I have had no major issues with privacy or basic streaming. The desktop app needed a reinstall once after an update but support sorted it out within 48 hours. Worth it for the price even with the occasional rough edge.
