WebHostingPad was founded in 2005 by a small group of individuals and has grown steadily for the last 10 years.

But are they really all that good?

We then closely watched the performance statistics like uptime & speed as well as doing our own background analysis to evaluate. Is WebHostingPad worth it at it has a low price or just bad news? Read on for what you can expect from this hosting company in our full unbiased review below.

What is WebHostingPad?

WebHostingPad was founded 12 years ago and has since attracted a budget-conscious clients. It is one of the cheapest web hosts on the market, but that doesn’t mean it lacks quality features as well.

If you’re in need of an ultra low cost best hosting provider for your startup or small business, then this company might be perfect for you. Twelve years ago a small group banded together with one goal to provide everyone with reliable hosting at an affordable price.

Plans And Pricing Of Web hostingpad

The WebHostingPad offers hosting plans which have no restrictions on features, like domains, databases and storage. We find this kind of service to be rare at this level. In fact we can’t think of any other provider that does the same.

They offer shared hosting, WordPress hosting, and more. Shared Hosting starts at $1.99 per month and gives you two options: Power Plan or Power Plan Plus, both of which come with free domain hosting registration, SSL encryption (a website security protection), a free Weebly website builder ($14/Month value) as well as unlimited websites/domains/emails (at no additional cost). In addition to that Webhosting Pad also features VPS hosting server for unmanaged needs as well as managed servers in different configurations.

It doesn’t have monthly billing, but they are still very accommodating. All of their hosting plans come with standard 30-day money-back guarantee, which excludes domain registration and other add-ons.

The payment types they offer are: All major credit/debit cards, direct bank transfer, PayPal and AliPay. Bitcoin is also an option for international customers. Paper checks will only be available to US residents.

Features Of Webhostingpad

Ease Of Use

Once you choose a billing cycle, the longer it is, the lower your monthly hosting costs will be. For example: if you commit to five years of hosting rather than one year (which would be a long-term decision), then your monthly price goes from $3.99 down to $1.99 – that’s half as much, when signing up with Web HostingPad for new customers, they require some personal information. Then create a password and select payment options before going through the checkout

Linux-based cPanel is an easy-to-use solution for your hosting needs. If you’re running a VPS, They have several control panels available depending on the operating system in question. Those who choose WordPress hosting, will not be able to access any control panel but are granted CMS access instead.

Another user-friendly feature that WebHosting Pad provides is its Weebly website builder, which will let you create a professional website with your own strategy.

Speed And Experience

The load time of WebHostingPad’s main website is 2.8 seconds, while the average is 8.1 seconds with 59 requests, WebHostingsPad only requires one less than the average at 89 total requests. In conclusion, GTmetrix evaluated web page loading speed with an a 96%, which is pretty close to a perfect score on its own.

WebHostingPad promises its customers a 99.9% uptime guarantee, and if it violates this guarantee they give their customers credit for one month of hosting services. But according to UptimeRobot (a tool that monitors Webhostingpad’s main website), there has never been any downtime at all, not even for a minute. There was only one major oscillation in response time because of how reliable the site is and leaves an impression on people about reliability as well.

Support

If you need assistance with their services, the best place to start is by using the “Help Center” located on WebHostingPad’s site. Inside it, there are a couple of options. If you’re someone who prefers to do everything yourself and wants knowledge about how things work, we recommend looking at their knowledge base or if your issue is common then you can look at its FAQ section.

If you need help, their support team can be reached in a few ways: submitting a ticket, writing an email or contacting them via live chat. In our experience, the chat is the quickest way to get your issue resolved and should always be available round-the-clock. Alternatively, you can give them a ring but keep in mind that it’s only available during workdays and from 8 AM to 10 PM (CST).

Pros

OK Page Loading Time

One of the main jobs of a web host is to make sure your website is delivered in a timely manner. Page loading speed can have an effect on search engine rankings and conversions too. That’s why we only want web hosts with load times below 850ms. WebHostingPad has delivered during the past 12 months an average speed of 787 ms, which is up to our standards.

Decent Customer Support

It offers live chat, phone support, and ticketing system. They have a vast knowledge base full of helpful articles. We tested out their live chat option and the customer rep connected with us right away.

Unbelievably Cheap

WebHostingPad has a very affordable option when it comes to pricing. If price alone is your concern, then look no further, and try this hosting platform.

Strong Money-Back Guarantee

Provides a 30-day money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied with its services. The guarantee applies only to the purchase of hosting and does not apply to renewal fees, service charges, or domain name registrations.

Free SSL Security

Typically, the cheapest options available, also limited when it comes to the ‘extra’ stuff like security. Fortunately, WebHostingPad isn’t just your average cheap option, their lowest plan include a free SSL certificate for increased site safety and you can upgrade to get an advanced spam filter or SSH access as well.

Beginner-Friendly Client Area And Control Panel

It has a client area that’s easy to use and logical. With it, you can manage your account details, services, domains, website security, and billing. Support is also available from the dashboard.

WebHostingPad offers cPanel as their control panel. To access the login to cPanel, you can go “Services” tab on your homepage.

The interface is simple and there are no issues with getting around (especially since the search bar is present). cPanel web hosting provides access to your website’s files, databases, domains, and pretty much all of the hosting-related tasks. Overall it’s perfect for both beginners and advanced users.

Cons

Many cheap companies are cheap for a reason. They cannot turn their slim profit margin into reinvesting  back into their products and services. Does this also apply to WebHostingPad? You decide!

Poor Uptime

Websites are only useful when they’re up and running.

Web hosting companies do the job best by providing 99.9% uptime to visitors or potential customers. The WebHosting Pad bold statement claims of “99.9% uptime”. However, they didn’t deliver what was advertised. The performance was normal with an average uptime percentage of 99 percent from the last 12 months and they had a day of downtime over that period.

Strings-Attached ‘Free’ Domain Registration

It will throw in a free domain name to new account signups, but we need you to use the “FREE DOMAIN” coupon. Plus any other coupons invalidate this offer. When your domain’s annual renewal comes up, it’ll cost $14.95 annually and that probably won’t pay for itself within 3 years’ time, so just know what you’re signing up for when using their service.

Limited Website Transfers

WebHostingPad Offer free transfers, but there’s a size limit of 2GB. That includes not just emails and FTP accounts, but also subdomains with addon domains. To make up for it you can recreate these things within their control panel.

Very Restrictive Backup Option

Free backups are a great offer some web hosts will give it to new customers. You might think they sound too good to be true, and you wouldn’t be wrong. But these are not always the best backup system.
