Depositphotos Review

OVERVIEW

Founded in 2009, Depositphotos has since grown into a large stock photo site that is now trusted by world-renowned companies such as Subaru and Bosch. One of the best things about this website is its easy-to-use interface and affordable prices. This makes it especially popular among bloggers – especially on WordPress platforms – who are looking for images for their websites.

What is DepositPhotos?

DepositPhotos has a library of 150 million images, and the studio where they were taken, Lightfield Studio, offers pre-orders on these pictures/videos.

There are not many (American) photographers in Depositphotos archive who specialize in wedding or portrait photography but there are many authentic European ones who have an eye for architecture, urban landscapes, and even some aerial shots.

DepositPhotos Features

Some of the important features of the deposit photos are as follow –

High-Quality Images, Videos.

When you upload a photo, vector or video to a platform it is made available at high quality and can be used on the internet or printed. Deposit photos have 16 million photos in the stocks library with about 70,000 added weekly by 246,000 photographers with varying pixel dimensions from 72-300dpi so they’re suitable for both web and print media.

Clean User Interface

The user interface is very neat and clean. Even a beginner can use this platform very easily. However, since most users will search for photos by specific keywords, the site has a very intuitive search interface that yields very relative results. When you filter images according to parameters such as orientation or colour size etc, it becomes even simpler to find what you need without wasting time looking at irrelevant content!

Free Subscription Available

If you are not interested in committing to a subscription with Depositphotos, then sign up for their free trial period where you will be able to download 5 images per day for 7 days. That means 35 free photos without any obligations of subscribing.

Incentives

Depositphotos currently pays between 44% and 52% royalties for each file that is sold via its pay-as-you-go payments plan. For its subscription plans, it pays $0.30 or $0.35 per image, depending on the number of downloads from buyers to you as an exclusive contributor.

If you want to join Depositphotos and be a contributor yourself then prices will depend on whether you sign up under the Pay As You Go Plan or subscribe to one of their monthly packages with no minimum contract period where they charge by download (they also have some exclusive offers)

Good Pricing Options

If you don’t want to be locked into a contract and want to be able to change your plan whenever you want, then Depositphotos inc is the best option for you. Most carriers offer these types of plans, and they usually come with a slightly higher monthly rate.

Mobile Application

DepositPhotos provides a mobile application where you can search, save and download files directly from your phone or tablet. The features of the app that will help you successfully search for files are a straightforward interface, a helpful download manager and the ability to view collections of free stock photos.

Search by category, orientation and colour with the filters available to find what you need faster than ever before! With advanced search options at hand just click “Find” to make your searches more efficient!

Earn With Deposit Photos

If you decide to make extra money from your pictures and become a DepositPhotos contributor, the platform gives you this opportunity.

To do this, all it takes is following the rules for each picture:

  • File format – JPEG
  • The resolution of the file must be at least 3.4 MP (2400 x 1600 pixels)
  • File size must not exceed 50 MB
  • Files must be of the original size.

You have to own any file that contains images of people or get permission from them first before selling it on DepositPhotos

The file can’t include intellectual property related symbols such as emblems or logos, nor recognizable trademarks and buildings protected by copyright law

You are also allowed to upload vector pictures if they meet certain requirements.

Exam

Anyone seeking to upload and sell their file must first pass an exam. The candidate’s works (photos, vectors, or videos) are checked for quality standards and possible commercial potential before being accepted for sale.

They also need to be 18 years old at the time of passing the exam and provide all necessary documentation authorizing them to post their files online as well as any materials present on said file (model release, owner release, etc.).

Content contributors receive between 34% and 42% of royalties from each credit sale ($0.30-$0.35 depending on level), or subscription sales if they have a status on DepositPhotos that entitles them to it-depending if they’re a free user with limited privileges ($1), a member without benefits($5) or professional contributor with full account privilege.

Deposit Photos Library

DepositPhotos’ search engine has undergone numerous upgrades recently. Another interesting addition is the picture recognition technology for reverse picture searches which makes licensed stock photos easy to find.

The DepositPhotos library is categorized into common styles or themes with appropriate keywords attached to each image on its site so that users can easily find what they are looking for when browsing through their categories of images from a range of photographers, illustrators, or photojournalists who have contributed these pictures in royalty-free licenses – all at one place.

They also offer variety in licensing status as well as file type; you should be able to see your desired image within minutes when searching with deposit phot intuitive user interface.

License Photos

All files on the deposit photos platform are royalty-free images of black friday. You won’t need the permission of Depositphotos contributors to use them. As soon as you buy a video, audio, or image file from deposit photos – it’s yours to do with what you please.

DepositPhotos Review -Final Thoughts

I recommend Depositphotos for anyone looking for high-quality stock images with low-average rates and a vast selection of images in any niche needed

I don’t recommend Depositphotos if you are looking for lower prices (Dreamstime), a higher amount of total images (Shutterstock) or if you’re a creative/artist using Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Stock).

On Depositphotos, everyone will find everything they need whether this is photos videos or vector art.
